Testing provides certainty to the aviation community that safety can be maintained when operating in the vicinity of the Tallawarra B Power Station.
A light general aviation aircraft will be conducting continuous figure 8 patterns near the circuit area of Shellharbour Airport to assess the inflight conditions over the Tallawarra B power station plume.
Inflight manoeuvers may require the aircraft to be travelling contra to the Shellharbour circuit area at varying altitudes.
To seek local operator feedback on establishing a TDA near Shellharbour to facilitate an inflight plume assessment of the Tallawarra B Power Station. The inflight test may require travel contra to the Shellharbour circuit area.
Each individual test flight will comprise of 60 pass throughs of the plume of Tallawarra B Power Station, these passes will require a minimum of 30 minutes of flight time over the site.
The TDA will be located over the Tallawarra B Power Station
Vertical Extent: Surface - 2000ft above mean sea level.
Horizontal Extent: 500m radius - centered over Tallawarra B Power Station
Operations are expected for up to 3 hours each day for a period of up to 2 to 3 weeks.
