    Runway (RWY) 14/32 is unserviceable from 21 March 2025 until 1 April 2026 and RWY 14L/32R (temporary RWY) open - 24 March 2025 to 1 April 2026.

    The issue

    Impacts

    1. RWY 14/32 is unserviceable from 21 March 2025 until 1 April 2026. 
    2. RWY 14L/32R (previously taxiway (TWY) A) will be in use as a temporary runway during this time. The temporary runway is reduced length and width: Code 2(ii), 2721 metres long by 23 metres wide.

    Purpose

    Major change upcoming at Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Tindal: traffic switch to alternative temporary runway due to works in progress.

    Proposal

    Introduction

    Airfield construction work as part of the EST00347 Project upgrades continues with the commission of the extended main Runway and TWY A. These construction works include excavation, pavement construction, navigational aids (NAVAID), and aerodrome ground lighting (AGL) changes/additions. 

    Impacts

    1. RWY 14/32 is U/S from 21 March 2025 until 1 April 2026. 
    2. RWY 14L/32R (previously TWY A) will be in use as a temporary runway during this time.  The temporary runway is reduced length and width: Code 2(ii), 2721m long by 23m wide.
