Endeavour Aerospace is launching a rocket to FL230, 12NM North of the White Cliffs Aerodrome
Launch date is 24 August 2024 with backup on 25 August 2024.

    The issue

A Temporary Restricted Area extending 6NM from the launch site (30°40'06.8"S 143°11'40.6"E) up to FL260 will be established for the 24 and 25 August.

    Approximate timings:
    24 Aug: 8 am to 4 pm AEST (UTC+10)
    25 Aug: 8 am to 4 pm AEST (UTC+10)

The two launch windows are required due to possible delays with the flight or due to adverse weather.

    Purpose

Endeavour Aerospace is seeking stakeholder input concerning the following, please provide feedback as this will ensure consideration can be made on such issues during the assessment process. Safety, environment, national security, equity of airspace, and any activities scheduled for the same volume of airspace over the same period.

    Proposal

Endeavour Aerospace is seeking to conduct a high-powered rocket launch at Caradoc Station approximately 16NM to the north of White Cliffs, NSW on 24 August 2024 to 25 August 2024.

AvSEF members should check NOTAMs closer to the date to confirm whether the activity is proceeding. The proponent is in the process of conducting a consultation regarding the activity with known airspace users such as commercial airlines and other stakeholders. A single rocket launch to an apogee of up to FL260 is proposed in launch windows from 8 am to 4 pm AEST (UTC+10) on each day.

The two launch windows are required due to possible delays with the flight or due to adverse weather. As part of procedures for the launch activity, contact will be made with Air Services at least 30 minutes before the flight of the rocket intended to be launched into controlled airspace to confirm activation of the Temporary Restricted Area (TRA) and that no objection to the timing of the launch exists.

In addition to this, Class G Airspace will be monitored for aircraft before and during the launch activities. This will include maintaining a visual watch of the airspace, monitoring VHF Radio transmissions and finally monitoring ADS-B Transmission from the area.
